Change is Good
Originally I had another post planned for today, however, inspiration struck at 10 pm on Saturday night. Seeing graduation pictures fill up my Instagram feed led me to think back to college and how much has changed since then.
I think what’s funny is that often times in the day to day of life we don’t realize how much we’ve changed until we look back at who we used to be. A lot has happened for me in the past two years. Some really great like moving in with Travis & officially taking care of Penny. Others, like previous jobs and family situations, might not have been the best going through it, however, I learned a lot from them.
I sometimes think to myself that I don’t know if the person I was in college and high school would recognize me today. I feel more confident, less afraid to voice my opinion, and have some pretty big dreams. Some people might think change is bad, but I don’t. No matter whether the change is really seamless or difficult, you always learn something from it.
At the end of the day, I wouldn't want to be the same person I was in college, change always brings growth and that is good. I think that throughout life you need to reflect on where you've been to appreciate where you are now. I used to use a mile marker at the start and end of every school year. It has taken me awhile to get used to readjusting where that mile marker is. Now, I'm thinking of using June (my birth month) and December as periods of reflection.
What about you? I’d love to hear your thoughts on change.
