Relaxing Evening Routine
The past few months have been quite the whirlwind. I decided that I wanted to step away from working in a marketing agency in favor of a corporate office environment. I recently started my new job and am enjoying my new position. This change in my work life has led me to think about and reevaluate my content strategy for S'MOre Happiness. I am very excited to continue sharing post-grad tips, adventures, and recipes with you all.
Today, I thought it would be fun to share a relaxing evening routine. I think that it is so important to relax after a busy day. Taking some time for yourself at the end of every day ensures that you do the little things that make you happiest. Whether it be drinking a cup of tea and reading a good book or putting on a face mask and listening to spa music, don't forget to pamper yourself every day!
While each day after work is a bit different for me, here is what I typically do at the end of every day.
Change into comfy clothes. As soon as I get home from work, I immediately change into comfier clothes. Whether it is jeans, shorts, or even my pajamas, I start my evening routine with getting comfortable.
Cook dinner. Ideally, Travis and I would have decided what we want for dinner and have the ingredients handy. If not, either him or I will stop at the supermarket on the way home from work. Once we have everything we need, we start cooking dinner. I really think that preparing a meal together is very relaxing and fun. I am hoping to share more recipes on the blog throughout the summer.
Evening pampering. After dinner is devoured, we'll clean up the dishes and put away any leftovers. Then, I'll shower and either do a face mask or just cleanse my face. Sometimes, I'll put a spa music playlist on Spotify during my shower. If you haven't tried that, it makes a huge difference and your bathroom instantly becomes transformed into a relaxing spa.
Read a book or watch Netflix. Before getting into bed, I'll either read a book or watch Netflix. I recently finished two AMAZING books. The first was The House at the Edge of the Night by Catherine Banner and the second book was Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty. I highly recommend them. I recently got Liane Moriarty's book, Big Little Lies, which is now a HBO series. I am excited to start reading it. If I don't feel like reading a book, Travis and I will watch something on Netflix. Lately, we are rewatching New Girl!
What do you enjoy doing to unwind at the end of every day?
