As I'm sitting down to write this post, I have an Avatara cooling eye mask on my eyes. I've always wanted to try an eye mask and while I was at the Target in Natick, MA on Saturday, I picked this one up. I started implementing self-care Sundays at the start of the year. I try to do one to three relaxing things to help refresh and rejuvenate me for the week ahead.

Let me fill you in on the backstory about why I'm making self-care a huge priority. After working in my first two jobs outside of college, I realized that I need to change my habits and make my happiness a priority. I firmly believe that having a job does not define who you are. I think that the hobbies you enjoy doing, the people you love spending time with, your values, vision, and dreams for the future define who you are. Taking time to do the things that matter most to you and make you feel happy is crucial! 

With that being said, it was hard for me to adjust to post-grad life and the demands a 40-hour work week can have. In my second job out of college, I let the lack of work and feeling unmotivated and unproductive during the day affect my overall wellbeing. What I realized after taking some time off from corporate life is that I can choose how I'm feeling and how I react to certain situations. I can't control other people or their actions, but I can control mine. 

So, I took things into my own hands and decided to implement self-care Sundays. If you want to start a self-care routine, here are some ideas:

The list above is just a few of the things that I enjoy doing. You don't have to copy it, just pick a few activities that make you happy and make it a priority to set aside time to do them!
