How I Plan My Week

If you've read my Instagram bio or about page, you'll know that I am obsessed with stationery. Ever since I was a kid, I've loved collecting notebooks and gel pens, writing to-do lists, and journaling. Productivity is important to me. Balancing my day job with S'MOre Happiness requires time management skills and drive. I love reading blog posts like this, so I thought it would be fun and hopefully helpful to capture how I plan my week for you.

Two weeks ago, I wrote a pretty ambitious to-do list of things for me to get done after work. Do you want to know how much I accomplished off that list? Nothing! I learned that I need to create a realistic, manageable list for myself. Otherwise, I won't get anything done.

Create a plan on Sunday.

As part of my self-care Sunday routine, I write a to-do list for the week. (Side note: I recently bought a book all about bullet journaling, and I want to start getting into doing that with my to-do lists). The list typically includes things for me to work on for S'MOre Happiness, as well as, things to do for myself and my relationship.

Plan for three things only.

Like I mentioned above, when I wrote an ambitious to-do list of multiple things for me to do after work, I felt overwhelmed and didn't accomplish anything. Last week, I stuck to three things per day and was pretty productive. The three things can be anything you want them to be. If you are working on a side hustle, include things for that, if you want to work-out plan for that, if you want to relax and have a spa night add that to your list.

Take it a day at a time.

What I learned this past week is I need to take my list a day at a time. For the most part, I was pretty productive. I know now that I can't book anything to do on Wednesdays because I get home after 6:30 and am exhausted from the day. Or if I do add things to my list for Wednesday, I need to be patient with myself if I can't get them done. It is okay if you need to move things around in your week to fit your schedule.

I hope this post helps you! If you want to hear me talk about how I plan my week and some of the things I had on my to-do list last week, watch my latest vlog!
