I can't believe it's the end of another month! Time is definitely flying by as a post-grad & I am enjoying the transition. Evenings and weekends are free of homework and I have time to focus on the things I want to do, without worrying about upcoming tests or projects. Last month, I didn't have time to finish one book because I was adjusting to my new job. This month, I was able to finish a book and I have another queued up for October!
At the beginning of the month, I went to a flower shop/used bookstore with my boyfriend's mom & sister. It was so much fun looking at all the books they had & picking some out for a great price :) I got two books and finished one about a week or two ago. The next one I'm planning on reading in October, so stay tuned to my October Booklist!
The book I read this month was Girls in White Dresses by Jennifer Close. I definitely recommend it as it was a fast read, somewhat relatable, and funny. I recently sat down and drafted a morning/night routine to have some relaxing downtime. One part of my night routine is to read a book or magazine instead of endlessly scrolling on social media. Not only does it give my eyes a break from the harsh lighting of a computer/phone, but it enables me to relax and get lost in a good book. :) If you are struggling to find the time to read a book, set some time aside before bed to read a chapter or two. You'll find that it makes a huge difference in the quality of sleep you get and it'll make you feel productive and happy.
