Ogunquit, Maine Travel Diary
Ogunquit, Maine is absolutely picturesque, quaint, and charming. Picture tree-line streets with gorgeous views overlooking the ocean. It is the best, small, New England beach town getaway that I have been to. There is so much to see and do here. I love sharing my travel diaries with you all on S'MOre Happiness. This time, I decided to film Travis & I's adventures as well, so stay tuned to the end of this post for a link to our first vlog! :)
Our first day in Maine was amazing. The weather was the warmest it would be for the entire trip - probably around 85 degrees. The best part was it was warm and there was no humidity! Something vastly different than where we live in New Jersey. We got to The Colonial Inn around 12:15. Our room wasn't available yet, so we started to explore the town! We went on Marginal Way and were amazed at how beautiful the path was. The water was so clean and the greenery surrounding the water made me feel like we were on an island!
Afterwards, we went to La Orilla for lunch. We were starving, so I didn't take pictures of the food. However, the tabouli salad and crab cakes we ordered were delicious! The portions were quite small, but we saved room for ice cream after at Sweet Pea's.
Shortly after, our hotel called us to let us know our room was ready! If you are planning a trip to Ogunquit, I highly recommend staying at The Colonial Inn. The rooms are cozy, clean, and homey. (To view a hotel room tour, check out the video below!) Plus - every day they bake chocolate chip cookies - Travis & I definitely took advantage of that. This was the view from our hotel room - amazing!
For dinner that night, we ate at Brix & Brine. We had crab tots, lobster crostini, and mussels. It was super tasty and fresh!
Later on, we decided to head to the beach for the sunset. It was incredible!
Check out how the polaroid came out on my Instagram!
One of our favorite places to eat during the trip was at Hooks. It is about a 7 minute drive from the hotel. The food was so delicious and flavorful.
Another one of our favorite spots in the town was Loveshack Juicery. Oh my goodness - the smoothies here are amazing!! If you are planning a trip to Ogunquit, you need to try them!
The rest of our trip was filled with amazing food, beautiful scenery, and lots of laughs! Check out my first vlog below - it is the first part of our Ogunquit travel diary.
